Regarding my new song “World Needs A Friend“ released today.

In the midst of life’s challenges, let us remember the power of friendship. As followers of Christ, we often give our best to a world that can be hard & heartless. Yet, amidst the chaos, we find solace in a true friend, one who guides us towards the path of love & compassion, just as the Lord would. My Stepfather was that friend to me.

After finding myself in the wrong places with the wrong people I thought were my friends, like many of us, I would have some tough yet valuable lessons ahead of me to learn about who my real friends really were.

At times in life, we find ourselves in need of moral support & encouragement from a good trusted source & feel let down when the good you have put out is not reciprocated. What I learned the most in these trying times from my stepfather is to not expect for people to be the ones to fill you back up when you’re running low but to let the Lord fill your heart. And you know what? He will & does.

How? God works through people & uses who He chooses. That’s it. WE are the hands & feet of God & if you’re expecting to be lifted by someone specific & in particular you think will surely be there for you, you’re gonna be let down in most cases, but the good news is someone will be there to pick you up with a kind word or gesture & it will seem so out of left field & that’s how God works.

Your help comes from who you least expect it just so you can be so blown away by the sheer level of kindness & the timing in which you receive it that you literally say “Wow! Thank God!”

Matthew 22:14 - Many are called, but few are chosen. Let’s be that friend to others & embrace the peace & well-being that comes from following His example.

I know why it’s called Good Friday, but it alway

I know why it’s called Good Friday, but it always hits me hard and very deeply, because - and I’m speaking to us who do know - WE know that what he did was so amazing that it’s difficult to imagine anyone ever doing it... especially for those who literally hate us.

For Him to have been hung on that cross that day, a day we call Good, is a tough one for me. Always has been. He literally became sin - that’s how He took the sins from the world - so that WE could walk in liberty and not be walking around ashamed for the rest of our lives for the things (sins) we’ve done.

All I can say is, Thank You, Jesus for your love. The greatest love of all time.

I know this is for someone, whenever they get it.

I know this is for someone, whenever they get it. My stepfather was the only believer in my family, and I wasn’t raised religiously. He used to read small sections out of the Bible when I would ask a question, or he would very cleverly say, “Hey, check this out… you wanna hear something cool?” He taught about how awesome Jesus was how amazing the Word is, and that there is something in there for every moment and season of our lives. Many times in my life and in my travels, whatever town I was in, I would call my stepfather for some encouragement when I was running on empty, and he would say something wise to me that would put me back on track. 100% of the time, he would point to something relevant in the Word. I was like, “Wow, man, thanks.” He’d say, “Oh, no problem… yup, there’s nothing like the Word, man.” Now that he’s in heaven, I will keep encouraging the world like he encouraged me. Trust in the Lord’s guidance. Let go of toxic ties, and find solace in His love. You’re not alone. Embrace peace for “the Lord is near to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18). Move forward with faith and grace.

Been putting in the work and I’m excited for what’s to come. It was made known to me years ago, while I was hitchhiking down the highway at 17 and having a real hard time… that the second half of my life was going to be amazing. I’m here. It’s starting now. The Lord has given us the power to speak to the waves. You will not go down when you wield your sword wisely.

The power of life and death is in the tongue. We’ve got to speak it. Some lose their minds in the chaos and try to cause turmoil trying to sink your ship when you’re doing your good work in the world.
This is mostly because they chose to not do their own work and they’re mad. They’re mad at God. They’re mad at you and they’re mad at you because you choose God over them. That’s the truth. All things in their season will be made known. Right now, I’ve only been about my work…
I cannot be bothered by anything else. All those working for the new world… the light workers, stay extremely focused, don’t be distracted by the workers of iniquity and what they’re throwing at you. Their fiery arrows will be extinguished. KJV

A new thing is being done in your life right now. You will soon be unrecognizable to those in your past and those around you. Keep going. 💃🌎 In celebration of International Women’s Month, I’m sharing a song I wrote titled - You Own The World. I wrote it at a time when I used to encourage my mom and my sister on the phone almost daily when they were going through some rough times. I wanted them to feel appreciated and amazing and beautiful and confident. I let them know that who they were and what they had inside was more than enough to share with somebody worthy of loving them and that THAT SOMEONE would be very grateful for them. ALL they needed to do was to believe it and smile for themselves first and everything else good would follow. I felt it appropriate to share today in honor of all women. When these lyrics came to me, I felt it would benefit other women as well. I hope this song encourages you down deep and lifts you up high. -Scott ✨

I have the brightness up in my studio more so than I normally do and I am leaning into you to tell you something very important personally for me and that is that sometimes in life something can happen that’ll make you even more grateful than you already are and something like that happened to me this month.

I literally got another chance at living and maybe I’ll talk about it in detail later or maybe I’ll just put it in song subtly and I want to say right now that just because I’m still alive doesn’t make me more blessed or more fortunate, more lucky than anyone else that didn’t get away unscathed.

Just because you’re out there consciously living - so you think - and doing the right thing does not make you invincible.
